Corning introduces us the future - Video

Corning gave a glimpse into its vision for the long-term future with a sequel concept video (below). Its use of technology imagines that screens going beyond Lotus Glass could be used for transparent displays virtually everywhere. While it starts with smartphones, tablets, and car displays, it imagines super-sized touchscreens that go as large as classroom walls and even the entire fences around nature parks.
Much of the technology is an extrapolation of what Corning already does, such as electrochromic glass that can change its tint, high-bandwidth optical connections for large displays, photovoltaics for solar panels, and optical connections that make very large screens possible. Multi-touch tables are already possible through Samsung's SUR40 or 3M, just not at the same size. 3D projection is more exotic and would require more effort.

The video is as much a demonstration of technology concepts for touch itself, such as multi-touch gestures being used to swipe content between devices as well as augmented reality.
As with most such concepts, getting the technical reality may take years and likely won't see a direct translation of Corning's predictions, although at least some of its predictions are considered realistic.
