Finally, some dates for the Toshiba Thrive tablet, and yes, they’ve finally gone official with the name, but that’s old news already. Pre-orders kick off from June 13 with pricing starting at $429. It’ll finally ship on July 10, and watch out for it – Toshiba expects this’ll boost the company to one of the top three tablet vendors in 2011. Hah!
That’s $429 for the 8GB of internal storage model, $479 for 16GB and $579 for 32GB – $20 cheaper than the Motorola Xoom with the same amount of storage. Pricey, but Toshiba’s expecting to win consumers over with brand-name power, SRS stereo speakers, “Resolution+” for upscaling SD image content, a removable battery than can fully charge in 1.5 hours and interchangeable covers in varying colors.
