Toshiba launches 11.6-inch Oak Trail WT310/C tablet

Exactly one week ago, Digitimes heard rumors that Toshiba may have scrapped it’s 11.6-inch Windows 7 slate that we saw at the beginning of the year. That rumor turned out to be false today as it just launched over in Japan as the Toshiba WT310/C, however, it’s for business / enterprise markets only.
A few features touted are its “Adaptive Display” (auto-adjust brightness), “Audio Enhancer” for better sound quality, BIOS / SSD login security and power saving “Eco Utilities”.
This tablet sports an 11.6″ 1366 x 768 multi-touch display (auto-adjust brightness), Oak Trail Atom Z670 (1.5GHz, single core) chip, 2GB of RAM, 64GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, 2MP front / 3MP rear cameras and Windows 7 Professional. Ports consist of USB 2.0, HDMI and a SDXC card slot. Weighs 915g and is 15.8mm thick. Optional cradle with more ports sold separately.
The tablet is due out mid-June. No word on pricing. Given this particular rumor is false, there’s still hope for Toshiba’s non-Windows / Chrome OS netbooks from Toshiba. Even if only in Japan.
