The LG Optimus 2X -- world's certified first dual-core smartphone will receive an official software update from the manufacturer which will be rolling out soon, starting mid to end of May.

According to the information posted by the Korean manufacturer, the software refresh will bring improved multimedia player support in the vein of reinforced video format and music/video player functions. Additionally, there will be a more stabilized patch to prevent rebooting/freezing that users are experiencing. If you have an Optimus 2X, expect the update notification to reach your smartphone soon and improve your multimedia experience with hopefully no more hangs in certain scenarios.
